Sonos - How to Activate the RadioSparx Service on Sonos as a Native Sonos Service

To activate the RadioSparx service as a Native Sonos Service to play music from RadioSparx on your Sonos system please do the following:

1.  Surf to RadioSparx at https://www.radiosparx.com and sign in with your account the is activated with a RadioSparx subscription.

2.  Proceed into the Player Settings option and change the External Player Type field to be SONOS and then save the change.

3.  Proceed to fully setup your Sonos speakers using the Sonos-provided instructions for speaker setup and activation.  Once this is completed and you can play music from various Sonos-provided stations, then and only then should you proceed to the next step.

4.  To add the RadioSparx service to your Sonos Controller App, open the Sonos Controller App and click on Manage on the top menu, then select Service Settings under the Manage popup menu.

5.  On the Service Settings screen, click the Add button.

6.  Scroll down until you see the RadioSparx Royalty-Free Music option and double-click that.

7.  Then click on the button for "I already have an account".   A browser will popup and you should then sign in to the same RadioSparx account again that you did in Step 1 above.

8.  A new screen will appear where you can give the player a name.  You can choose the name to be anything you wish, but ideally make it unique so you can distinguish this player instance from any other instances that you may activate later (if you have multiple Sonos systems to activate).

9.  Close the Service Settings window and then back in the Sonos Controller App main window, you should now see RadioSparx Royalty-Free Music on the right side in the "Select a Music Source" panel.

10.  Click on RadioSparx Royalty-Free Music and then you will see the options to select music by genre or by industry.  You can proceed to explore both of these options depending on how you prefer to select a music station that suits your desired musical tastes.

11.  If you click on the "By Genres" option, a list of music genres will appear.  If you click on the "By Industry" option, a list of different industries will appear.  Continue to drill down an on a genre or industry until you get to a list of music stations for the genre or industry you're in.

12.  Double-click the station you want to play and it should momentarily commence playback.

13.  Additionally you can configure a Custom Schedule under your RadioSparx account on the www.radiosparx.com website and then you can trigger playback of the schedule by simply launching any station and the fact that a schedule is active for your account will cause the configured schedule to override the selected station, so the schedule will play instead of the selected station.

Custom Station Support:  If you wish to have track-level control over what is played, you can always create one or more Custom Stations in your RadioSparx account.  Then the custom stations you create will appear under the "Custom Stations" option at the top of the list of genres when you go into the "By Genres" option.

Custom Ad Support:  If you're using a PRO subscription at RadioSparx, you can also configure custom ads in your RadioSparx account if you wish to include any ads in your music playback stream.

Please Note:  Sonos is strictly a live streaming service that can sometimes be interrupted due to a transient or temporary service outage at your ISP, or on the Internet at large, or if there's any technical problem with the RadioSparx servers.  As a  result, you may need to occasionally restart the playback on the Sonos Controller App.
