A rollicking Maritime-style folk song where the lyricist describes trying to decipher the reasons for a breakup from a (maybe metaphorical) letter his lover left behind. Clever wordplay uses the letter "Y" to stand in for the word "why", as well as to symbolize the divergence of two people's paths.
