Tropicália

Tropicália, also known as Tropicalismo, is a Brazilian art movement that arose in the late 1960s and encompassed theatre, poetry, and music, among other forms. Tropicália is associated almost exclusively with the movement's musical expression, both in Brazil and internationally. Emerging in the late 1960s from a mélange of Bossa Nova, Rock and Roll, Bahian Folk music, African music, and Portuguese Fado, it has much in common with US-based Go-Go Pop-Rock (including psychedelic aspects) as well as Orchestral Pop from the 1960s.
