The Three Bushes

By: Wendy Mullen
Lovely, sophisticated modern folk setting of William Butlet Yeats' ballad. Soft, sultry dual vocals create tension in the harmonies and the repeated words "oh my dear" with its multiple meanings. An English horn adds a haunting, melancholy effect.

By: Wendy Mullen

Wendy Ellison Mullen is the lead singer, rhythm guitar player, and main song writer for Late Summer Purple--a bluesy rock band playing in Seattle-area clubs and bars. They have performed twice at Bumbershoot, which Rolling Stone magazine calls the "Mother of all Festivals." Norm Langill, Bumbershoot's Director, says Wendy has "a voice like warm honey." Wendy won the Washington Blues Society's Robert Johnson blues contest with her haunting version of "Hell Hound Blues," and her music has been featured on VH1, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, MTV, and in other venues.
