By: Blue Sandelwood Soap
Blue Sandelwood Soap was the first hippie band in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They had a hit record in 1967 with "Friends I Haven't Met Yet." Because their music - which was all original songs - had a number of meter changes, the crowds just would be sitting around on the grass, grooving to the mellow tunes of this laid back music. Dan Knutson was vocalist and lead guitar, Dave Bergsland handled drums and vocals, Steve Luck on bass and sax, and Harley Toberman on Farfisa organ. Blue Sandelwood Soap's 1960s productions are so authentic, the audience will wanna light up a bong.
