Torfi Olafsson
Iceland Composer Torfi Ólafsson has been active in the music business since 1972. He started the guitar school GÍS in 1993, along with Tryggvi Hubner, and still actively teaches. Torfi has composed more than 150 songs, including songs on more than 25 different albums released throughout the world. He composed the popular song "Easy To Fool" for the Icelandic Eurovison contest in 2009, and had three songs in the 2007 finals for TV-ruv in Iceland. In 1976, Torfi was the first composer to write an original song for Icelandic singer Bjork for radio.
Albums reeased by Torfi Ólafsson include Kvöldvísa 1980, songs composed to poems by Steinn Steinarr; Nóttin flýgur 1987, composed to poems by various poets; Aldarminning Davíðs Stefánsson 1995; Íslandstónar 1 1996, an instrumental) Jólahátíð 1996 (songs, stories and poems for Christmas); Poems and Melodies from Iceland 1997 (a collaboration with Magnús Magnússon); Íslandstónar 2 1998 (Instrumental) and Íslandstónar 3 1998 (Instrumental). Romantic Sax, a collaboration with Þórir Úlfarsson and Kristin Svavarsson, was released in 1999. and "Í draumi sérhvers manns" was named the Best Album of 1980-2000.
